Kvanefjeld Multi-Element Project – Rare Earth Elements, Uranium, Zinc Overview: GMEL Receives Permit for the Full Evaluation of the Kvanefjeld Multi-Element Project (REEs, U, Zn) Kvanefjeld is a giant multi-element deposit (REEs, U, Zn) hosted within the northern Ilimaussaq Intrusive Complex located near the southwest tip of Greenland. It is the first of several deposits to be extensively drilled within the project area, and already hosts the worlds largest REE resource as defined by internationally recognised reporting codes. Not only is Kvanefjeld a giant deposit, it also is highly accessible outcropping on a broad plateau, and features a favourable mix of economic minerals that are ammenable to processing. The project area is surrounded by deepwater fjords that form a large natural harbour system and are easily accessed all year. The project area is approximately 40 km from the Narsarsuaq International Airport, and lake systems suitable for the development of hydroelectric power plants are also located nearby.
