Ok, so you decided to become an affiliate marketer. Great choice. Now the first thing you need to do before anything else is find the right products to promote. There are thousands of products out there but you need to choose the right ones in order to make money. After all, that is why you became an affiliate marketer right? In this article I will go over a few of the main things to look for in the products and programs you want to promote.
The first area to look into is finding the right program. What you want to look for is an affiliate program that has a large variety of programs to choose from. In order to market to a particular niche you need to have a variety of products to offer them. On the same note the program you choose should be adding new quality products to their programs regularly.
The second area of concern is the payment structure some of the better affiliate programs offer 2 tier commission payouts. This works great because you get paid for selling the product and you get paid when one of the affiliates under you sell the products. So it would be a pretty good idea to build a list of affiliates while promoting the product.
The third key to finding the right program is finding one with a good commission base. There are many affiliate programs that will pay you around 10% to 25%. And the product you would have to promote would not be of good quality, and with that comes a higher that normal refund rate. You want to target the ones that will pay a 50% or above commission rate. You can promote some of the lower commission products, but those are usually high priced products. Either way you will have to do your homework to find the right commission base.
Next comes the fun part, looking for a program that has a good support system. You want to find a program that has a good record of support for their affiliates. Some good qualities to look for are tools to help you promote the products. Things like banners, affiliate links, e-mail scripts, and sales history on the product. You need to know if it will be worth your wile to promote their product. And you need to be able to reach them through their support line or e-mail.
Finally, and this is probably one of the most important keys of all. You need to find the right market for the product. You will get all the information on the product, and the promotional tools and support, but you, and you alone are responsible for finding the right market for your product. There are many ways to do this, but one of the most successful ways is to write articles, or reviews about about the product or service. If you know what your market will be than it makes a bit easier to find the right product.
Well, there you go. As you can see there really isn't that much involved with finding the right program and products. All it takes is doing your home work. And knowing where to look for the good programs. If you follow the steps that were outlined in this article, you will have a better chance at succeeding in affiliate marketing.
