To receive a quality Satellite TV broadcast at home meant two things: a hefty fee of $80 or more dollars a month AND installing the bulky dish on the roof somewhere, possibly having problems with it taking space too.
It was until a band of smart researchers and engineers, who've devoted years, have created a brilliant feature for computers. A piece of software which connected your PC directly to a Satellite to receive a signal somewhat similar to the one your TV receives with the help of your dish. Moreover, the legality of the software was proved to be one hundred percent too. Such an opportunity presented news, sports and entertainment from different cultures and societies.
To watch satellite TV on the TV, Cable or PC? Since that software is now widely available what could it possibly mean and do for the casual person, us? It should not come as a surprise to those interested to watch satellite TV on computers that there are already millions doing so. Billions of video streams are watched every single day and people are getting used to watching entertainment media using their PCs online. Why not power up my computer with a special satellite TV software? That was the main question that has bugged me until I gave it a go.
I use to be bothered by the fact of dealing with lost satellite signal, whenever the weather turned ugly. It's a big disadvantage to all dish owners, just like when I was one, when you can only watch your favorite programming weather permitting. Now, all you need is a computer and a steady internet feed and you can watch free satellite TV on your PC.
So I finally pay the one time download fee (all it cost me so far in 8 months) and it's up and running in 5 minutes. It absolutely stunned me with capabilities since all I expected it to be a little software package. I was reminded of the times I only had a black and white TV set and had to twist and turn the antennas to even get a channel right. Now, I can have free satellite TV legally piped into my computer and without any type additional add-ons (or twisting-turning)!
What was funny for the first few days was watching the Chinese and Japanese TV channels, they got some funny shows I can tell you that. So many stations were available to me with different cultures and social morals. I mean some of the commercials in other countries would be considered soft porn in North America. Plus, I love to catch a good rugby or cricket game from other continents' TV stations.
I can't exactly recall any trouble I had with the software so far but there's are a couple of points I'd like to highlight as the main advantages. Firstly, the software has an intelligent user interface that makes it a breeze to use to search and find TV shows. You can save the TV channel after you have finished the show so you can return to it tomorrow for more. Secondly, the software really outshines your any regular cable or TV provider with just too many channels, affordability and usability. This is a definite advantage for those who pinch pennies and enjoy a good selection shows all round the clock. Even if you have already invested in that 70 inch flat screen of yours there are no real obstacles for you to wire it to your computer for it too look real genuine and possibly drive your neighbors jealous. Thirdly, it is a $50 one time set up and download fee⦠I think no more comments are needed for those of us who pay (correction - paid) monthly to our local dish providers. And lastly, I may or may not need to mention it, but it also has all the instructions how to set it up, a user manual with the DIY approach. I can't see what else could I be asking for since having this for free would be outrageous.
Act now, choose the next generation TV on your PC and get real value.
