Are you planning of attending a party tonight, then there are certain points to be kept in mind to transform you into the center of attraction of the party:

Different shades of make up is required depending on the time and place of the party.  Deeper and warmer colors are essential during evening under strong artificial lighting.  Certain colors look great in natural light, but can be dull looking under artificial lighting.

If you have a slender face, create illusion of width by blushing your cheek little farther from the nose and by blending it up till the temples.

Blushing and blending it across your face to soften your look by shadowing is a great make up trick if you have a square face and also this is useful if your jaw line is very heavy.

The foundation that you use should be of lighter shade as it can accentuate your cheek bones, especially if it is a evening party.  Top portions of your cheekbones and nose corners should get this shade application.

Concentrating on eyes and lips, there too apply a very light shade of foundation so that it can accentuate and make them look brighter and shadowy, this gives a great effect on the overall beauty of the face under artificial lighting.

Cream blushers should be totally avoided and powder blushers only should be used if your skin is oily, powder blushers can give the right color shade without the unwanted shine that is found in cream blushers.

You might have seen many ladies having those messy face before the party comes to an end, this is the oil seeping in from the blushers.  If you are an unfortunate one with this problem, there is a make up trick for this, apply a little baby powder on your face before applying foundation and also use a clean blusher blush, this should make you look fresh much longer.

Choose the lipstick based on your skin tone, shallow skin tones require medium shades of lipstick and warm beige and clear blue eye shadow can go very well with this skin tone.

Clear natural foundation can be excellent for skin complexion that is pale.  For a perfect look apply brown eyeshades and soft blusher on chin, cheeks and forehead.

Do not try to match your eye shadow color to suit other colors used by you either as nail polish or as lipstick, it is no more fashionable
